Leibniz Prizes

The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG) has awarded the generous Leibniz Prize every year since 1986. Numerous researchers from our faculty have scooped this prestigious accolade, in 2023 Prof. Dr. Catharina Stroppel.

Nobel Prizes

Not one but two University of Bonn researchers have been honored with a Nobel Prize, including the particle physics pioneer Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Paul in 1989.

Fields Medals

Prof. Dr. Peter Scholze and Prof. Dr. Gerd Faltings, both (former) members of our faculty, are the only Germans in history to have won the illustrious Fields Medal.
